Well not redoing it, as in finishing up or cleaning IE final prep. That particular ship is fairly new so there isnt much to do but decals and looking at the textures one more time. I wasnt much looking at those mrianda mod ships when building her. I think a model is what started her or rather lent some design ideas too. Since it started as a typical connie configuration.

It's all in the beginnings of this thread.
The Lethe will get final textures and a going over with the detail stick, unless there are those who think I should leave her in a more TOS state than matching up to my Re-Connie. (it was the predecessor to the re-connie btw)
I think I have 3 shuttles in various states of detail, found 2 just need to remember where the other is. :O

I see what you mean. I downloaded your .gif and tried to upload it to a message and yes, it does convert to a .jpg.

However, I tried using the Single File Upload Utility which worked. It stays in .gif format, but then you only have a link instead of a thumbnail.

Perhaps you could drop by the support forums and post a suggestion about having the .gif post as an inline image. Don't know if it's doable, but hey, it's worth suggesting.

---------------------------------------

This is what I came up with. It's a combination of using Manage Attachments to create the thumbnail and Single File Upload Utility to create a link to the working .gif.

Nacelles and marker lights. I should redo those struts too.
Need to detail the belly and do all the stencils and paneling and interior stuff.

Love the look of this.
I don't know why but every time I see a shuttle with the doors open I see the space Hippies from "Way to Eden" episode. Singing "Yay Eden!"

Interior furniture and some junk on the roof.
Tomorrow is stencils and greebles on the bottom and some panel lines and UGH maps. (lcars, need to find some since that's going tooo far lol.) Need to look for some of those Ent B lcars always liked that blue green scheme.

oh yeah I redid the too smooth struts.

The interior looks nice.

I was looking at the person standing on the nacelle and something is bugging me; that's one heck of a step up!

In the image below, I drew a marker the length of her left knee to boot sole and placed it beside the nacelle. From this perspective that thing is at least knee high. So I was thinking, what if the piece I circled were to pop out and fold down as a step?

Only thing is that is a plasma vent. I was thinking of something to come out there but didnt want to resort to the TOS methods to solve the issue, and well. It isnt a hero mesh. Getting 4 door parts and a aft panel rigged was enough maxscript torture for me :O

Ill look into some other solutions like widening the nacelles so ppl egress via the gap between the nacelle and the shuttle hull.
the other option is a BSG stepstool

Plasma vent, eh? Wouldn't do anyone any good to stick their foot in there.

I think I need to wrap this up with the stencils and be done with it or Ill bloat this thing into 100k. The whole idea was to be med poly for uh use in renders with other ships uh, lol.
Cheapo blurry lcars, mess of greeble things on the belly and I forget what else.

And decals.
I think all I have left are the chairs inside. Oh and redoing some mapping (to kill the effect caused by the symmetry modifier. Oh, and a shuttle name I guess. errrr lol Do that tomorrow I think.

Ok I think she is DONE, time to clean up the dir and pack it up. Note the ugly klinks are not part of it, you'll have to provide your own figures. Just gotta come up with a name.

This will also look good with Starships Enterpise B, great job. I'd love to see a scene of this shuttle with the Balmung.

Here is the next small toy, dunno if I will rebuild it like I did the Weyland. This one however will be set up in mental ray. I haven't decided if this will be a open release or given to Bob to release to premier members. I have plans to rig the aft doors and a possible interior. The USS Lethe will be my last scanline release After that everything released or not will be the more advanced Mental ray renderer. I doubt this will matter much to exports of the meshes.

As for this shuttle I am unsure of the type class etc atm. It obviously is a latter TNG era shuttle. If I remember correctly she was built as a stand in for the Onimaru. (note the bussards and nacelle bodies) But anyone with a keen eye would have seen them with many of my TNG era ships.
Question are interiors for these things really used? Just wondering if the time spent is worth it.
I am also toying with changing the nacelles or at least the bussards. Any opinions on this?

MKF-

oh wow these took forever to render, need to look into that. . . 16 to 20 min it shouldnt take that long even with the ao in the FG/GI multiplier slot OH Yeah uh all materials are temp. none of them are final, it is just stuff tossed on to get rid of the main standard materials that used to be on the mesh. Self ilum mates aren't even proper MR ones just the old max materials, apparently all self ilum mats emit photons on MR.

love the shuttle and the ship above it. One of these days I have to learn your technique on the interiors so I can redo my Nova mesh.
