UPDATE.
Here is an old ship Iíve been trying to make for a few years but could never get the main shape right. I think Iíve done it now. This going to be the space version of Air Force 1.
This is the back.
And this is the front.

UPDATE...
Finished detailing the radar dish.

Detailed the back of the dish even though I didnít need to.

Added more details to the bridge including the start of an antenna cluster.

UPDATE...
Added a few more antennas. Took the radar and shrunk in down to help fill in some space and I added two access hatches.

I chamfered a few edges and added a thingy with two more antenna. I might place some weapons here. Those blocks in the back are stand ins for the engines.

UPDATE...
Added a few details and I think I am now done with the top. I just need to add a few things like detail on the hatches and some other small things.

And this is how it now looks from the front. I did a quick rough idea for the windows. And I might add a door to the side.

Started to work on the engines. I rendered this with Mental Ray. I still need to learn how to use it better because I've lost some of the details.

UPDATE...
Finally got all the halves together and it's starting to finally look like something. Rendered in Mental Ray again I just can't get it to look right.

Here is a close up. The bridge tower still doesn't look right but everything else looks kind of good.

UPDATE...
Blocking out ideas for placement of rail guns and missile launchers.

Close up of standin rail gun and missile launcher. Iíll probably keep the missile launcher but rebuild the rail gun. I want two barrels and a greater fireing arc.

UPDATE...
Added more little details here and there. Tested some textures for the engines and decided to go just with those four engines and make the other four something else. The ships not that big what does it need with eight large engines.

The bulby front bit will house things like state dinners, speeches and other important things. The indent in the top is a test for a window and there will be another larger window below it.

Thanks right now I think this might be the one ship I've enjoyed working on the most. Don't know why.

UPDATE...
Started to rough in the shape of the hull for the Little Gray Aliens

Decided to move the outer edge of the wings slightly forward. I like the look of this.

Started to rough in the forward windows on the bulb section.

Just a scale shot of the M'Aangan Royal Cruiser, Earth 1 and the New Little Gray Alien ship.

UPDATE...
This what the forward windows will finally look like.

Just a test to see if my idea for textures will work. Otherwise building this ship would have been pointless.

Starting to get more into the detail of the missile launchers on Earth 1.

The pattern on the upper dome at the bow, will those be windows? They look like honkin' huge lounge windows.

UPDATE...
The missile launcher isn't finished yet but this is how it will look when completed.
Another old model I've decided to remake. This is part of a giant communications platform.
One of two versions of the backside I might do.
Another idea for the back of the dish. I kind of like this one.
This the original mesh. I has a few holes in it is missing it's textures. Next to it you can see the new smaller dish.

Hmm, not sure on the missile launcher, just a bit too boxy, but I am becoming a fan of this ship, it's got a cool different look to it. The dish array looks cool too... reminds me, I have to build one!

Well I wanted the small one to be the size of the dish in Arecibo. So when I do the big one it will be very big. It's not called the GFD for nothing.

UPDATE...
For some reason I lost my last save for this thing so I had to go back and redo detail on the back of the saucer and remake the braces on the back. Theyíre a little thinner than the old ones but these turned out nice.

Started on the textures for the dish. Still need to add a few things.

UPDATE...
This is the unfinished texture for the back of the small dish.

Iíve got the dishs pretty much placed as I want them I just need to make a few changes and some more textures so they donít all look the same.

Hereís what the back of the dishs look like with the old skeleton that connects them together.

This will probably be the new skeleton that will hold all the smaller dishs together. Iíll thicken it up a little bit.
