UPDATE...
Started to work on the warp engines and added details including a small opening on the outer side of the engine to add some green glowy bits.

Iíve added the impulse engines and two shuttlebay doors.

Thanks.

UPDATE...
One small scale pic. I made the mistake of thinking the D3 is overall larger than the D2 but itís only longer with an extened neck and shoulders. Iíll fix that when I get around to that ship.

The build on this is coming to an end. The two bumpy things on the middle of the ship have another cutout in the front but I might leave those of because I donít think itís needed. Iíll see how it looks and then decide. Iíve also started to unwrap parts of the ship to start the textures.

UPDATE...
Iím just about done with the build on this. Just a few minor things to do like beveling edges and fixing some smoothing groups. Iíve also started to get deeper into the textures and this is what Iíve done so far. Still has work to go.

A better look at the new cutouts I made on the top of the ship.

UPDATE...
This will probably be the last update for this ship this month. Iíve done a little bit more texturing and now Iím gonna start to unwarp the head and neck. This will take awhile since they are one part and have mesh smoothing applied.

UPDATE...
Well I decided to go back to the d2 and remove some polygons to help speed up the unwrapping of it. Itís helped a little but it will take me a long time to get it done. I still want to some building too so Iíve started to get work done on the Powhatan.

Not sure what front and back but I like that green glowy thing. Neat effect. I like the clay render as well. Makes it easy to see the details.

UPDATE...
I finished off the lower cannons and attached them to the hull.

Finished off the details for the airlocks and attached those bubble things on the top. I also added the shuttle bay. The last things I need to do are the missile bays and grid lines. Then I can ship it off to paint.

UPDATE...
Not getting too much done. Between cleaning out my house and playing Mass Effect. That also means not getting too much sleep. Iíve opened up the doors to the missile bays. Those will be the last thigs I need to work on before I start textures. Iíve also added the grid lines. I just need to add a few smoothing groups and weld a bunch of vertices and the build will be done.

Lens flares added just for fun.

UPDATE...
Iíve decided to add the finishing touches to the Powhattan while I continue to unwrap the Klingon D2. Just had to do the missile launchers and now this goes off to paint. Now while doing all that Iím also beginning to add detail to the Bison. Iíve also made the decision to quit my job and just focus on be an artist for now.

UPDATE...
Work on the Bison is moving along at a nice pace. The unwrapping of the D2 is taking forever.
Being the dumbass that I am I decided to open up the bottom. Now I have to make the inside of it.

UPDATE...
Well I finally got the warp engines for the Klingon D2 unwrapped so Iíve startd to throw on some base textures. These two images are also the first time Iíve used Ambiant Occlusion. I'll be so happy when summer is finally over. This heat makes me want to do nothing but sleep.

Good work all around Rob, but the D2 looks like something really special to me. My unique niptick is about the cutouts in the "domes", where I think you need to work a little more smoothing the edges, cause the vertical lines are to much perceptible and the borders looks to much "hard" for now.
About to be an artist, tallent you have more than enough. Good lucky !

The texturing looks nice so far.

However, the "bullet holes" look overly large and the textures on the pylons and nacelles look like they were mirrored from one side to the other. It looks too symmetrical.

I wanted the bullet holes to look like they've been hit by something large. I can still adjust the size. I haven't done the textures for the other engine yet. When I do they won't look the same.
