I modelled a few of the vehicles including the new tumblers and the bomb truck, and some environments including the Queensborough bridge.

I'm reading the novel of the film and I love it, I can't wait to see it.

Try to get time to go and see this one, wife can't wait. It looked stunning on the trailer, so I just hope Baines voice doesn't spoil it.

I didn't find his voice that bad. There were one or two bits I wasn't sure what he said, but I find that with most people these days

Lol. I was going to say something along the lines of 'Well Gordon, you're a Scotsman, so you can understand everyone else, but we struggle to understand you'.. only to be reminded that I'm a Yorkshireman and don't have a leg to stand on with that argument

Going to see if we can get a babysitter this weekend, try and see it then.

I agree. For the most part I could understand what he was saying. But apparently they really cleaned it up after the response to previews of the film.

They actually re-recorded a lot of it. There's a clip online that shows before & after from the prologue, and you can hear that the delivery is quite different.

My only problem with Bane's voice was that it almost sounded like he had a loudspeaker in that mask.. "clear" or not, it really shouldn't be that damn loud.

Well what a turn up for the books... eldest son is staying over at one set of grandparents, the other was happy to be babysat whilst we snuck off to see The Dark Knight Rises.

It's been a while since a film left me, and my wife feeling emotional, but this film did. I don't know what it was about the last 20 mins; the VFX (come on to that in a mo), the storyline, the score... who knows. But when it had finished, we both looked at each other and exhaled.

Yes, it's a long film.. but that's needed as there's a lot of character building, storylines to be told (backtrack), but I don't think I was bored at any point.

I loved the way they portrayed cat women, especially with the goggles that, when elevated, look like ears... nice touch. It was good to see her darkside and good side develop.

Bane - Have to say his voice didn't put me off at all and there were only a few bits of dialogue I missed. Thought Tom Hardy played it really well...like being able to deliver speech when you can't see his mouth.

Cat women - I got several looks from the wife whenever she mounted the bat bike. Lovely figure... enough said.

VFX - guys I don't not what to say, they were perfect. Like above comments, you sort of know what's going to be cg and what's not, but it was just superb and seamless. Rhys, you and the rest of the guys at DNeg need medals.

All in all great film and I actually liked where it can go now...

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

No Batman (maybe?) no Bruce Wayne and 'Robin' on his own opens up a lot of possibilities

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

Ricky.

I'd forgotten about what the seating position on that bike did to her bum.

I hate shots like that. "Look at bum or look at explosion?"

Well, if you could persuade her to set fire to a fart, you could watch both at once...

I finally got to see this, and I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

The characters were well developed, and while it was distinctly over the top it held together really well, and I loved the overall style. It had an unusually effective and emotional ending for a superhero film = all to often they seem to just stop after a big fight. For the first time ever I wanted to see more of Robin.

Christian Bale continues to be convincing as both Batman and Bruce Wayne, something not many can pull off.

I think they improved on the comic book Bane. which I found really surprising. As for the Bane voice - well, it was very clear, but it did jar a bit. It sounded like it was a commentary from a special edition or something, dubbed on afterwards. But apart from that, the calm assured voice worked well, and went well with the supremely confident character of Bane.

The action sequences managed have a good sense of flow - it was easy to keep track and still breathtaking, (All too often I just get dizzy and confused - "Batman & Robin" was awful for this.) In fact that sums it up well, pretty much everything Batman & Robin got wrong, Dark knight rises got right.. And Batman and Robin got LOT wrong!

About the only thing that bugged me was the cliche of a bomb conveniently fitted with a prominent red seven segment countdown display to helpfully tell the hero how long he has got.

Good film!

Jesus, that voice was terrible. It was like listening to a sub-par amateur Sean Connery impression.

I was quite honestly annoyed with most of the movie. The whole Occupy Gotham crap ...
