Default SciFi - Random Stuff.

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time posting here, so I thought I'd just drop in a few random projects that I have been working on for the past few months or so. All reactions are welcome.

This first set of images are of buildings from a military/prison/complex that I'm piecing together. In order they are:

Looks like they would fit in nicely in the Starship Troopers world.

This is a recreation of one of my old characters, one I named Ellim I'Sahurr. He's an insectoid alien, who belongs to a race I created called the Oliff Anirke.. He's a 6-leg, a giant among his people. Only 1 in every 1000 of their race is born with six legs, the rest have four. The average height of an adult (4-leg) Anirike is roughly 5' 4" tall, the average height of an adult 6-leg is between 6' and 7' tall. The six legs are always singled out from birth as leaders and warriors (elite soldiers) among the Oliff Anirike, because of their exceedingly high intellect, and incredible physical prowess. But in extremely rare instances, (1 in every 1,000,000,000), there are those among the Anirike born with eight legs. The 8-legs grow as tall as 15', and are virtually deified. And in an even rarer instance, (1 in every 100,000,000,000) there are those that are born with ten legs, but in all of those cases, the child dies at, or very shortly after birth. However in the Anirike's far distant past, all of their people were born with twelve legs, and were all warrior giants who grew as tall as thirty feet, and lived many hundred's of years. The current life-span of the Anirike is 100 years for a 4-leg, 125 to 150 years for a 6-leg, and between 150 and 220 for an 8-leg.

The Anirike come in various colors, white (albino), grey, green, black, red, yellow, brown, and speckled, (with any variation of colors). They are an extremely enlightened and friendly people, who only make war as a last resort. In the universe I created around them, they are allies with the humans.

In addition, there is a faction of the Anirike people called the Euroke Anirike, they are all grey. And extremely hostile to any one who isn't one of their own. Including the Oliff.

Also, for those of you who are wondering. he does have a mouth, I just haven't made it as yet. Can't decide on how to make it look, . And, in addition to eating through his mouth as most other known creatures in nature. He can ingest some of his nutrients and fluids through pores in his neck and back, by submersing himself in certain liquids.

The first two pics are of the original I'Sahurr (the creature in the middle), which I did a few years back. They were good enough for me, and my skill level at the time, but I was never really too happy with them. Time to redo'em.

Tell me what you think?

Welcome to Foundation 3D!

The buildings you have are great. They could be laid out in numerous arrangements to create different bases.

The alien is well modelled so far. The face looks very timid for a giant warrior insect, but that's okay. I get bored with the bad guy, evil alien/monster etc. being hideous and ugly. Mean and nasty can be very timid or beautiful looking as well (and all the more scary for it).

@ Davide_sd: Thank you, appreciate the comments.

@ Tenement 01: Thank you, and Starship Troopers was in part a source of inspiration for the buildings. That and G.I. Joe, and The Transformers (the 80's cartoons), as well as few others.

@ Rigel: Thank you as well, and yes, I plan to use those buildings for many things. And, yes, he is meant to look timid, he's fairly young. And he and his people are no longer predators, but they do recognize a need for a good, strong military. (You have to know a little more about the universe I made them for to see what I mean by that.) And also, you've got to remember, he's a six foot tall ant-type creature. He's pretty strong.

And true, beauty does not guarantee good heart, which can be frightening sometimes.

Still working on him, and other stuff, more to come.

Tell me what you think?

That is a really interesting character. You could do quite a lot with him/her.

Thought I'd do a simple color test, on him and his armor, to see if I can get a better idea of his/their new look. These colors (on the armor) are somewhat like a Vorlons' encounter-suit, you know, to give it a semi-organic look.

The shape and modelling look good and I like the colour on it. I take the broader end is the bow?

Its got a pleasing shape to it. I'm not a real fan of the colour though. Could be because its just so different from the "standard" white/grey.

Thanx Treybor

Appreciate the comments.

Nothing too much, just a slight update on the fighter. Reworked the canopy, it was looking kind of........ odd.

Still working on it, much to do.

The new one looks very organic and the modelling looks quite smooth and clean. I like the lighting effects on the blue fighter.
