Default Headlight lighting

Anynoe out here that can shed some light (no pun intended) on how to create an effective/realistic car headlight lightening techinque or point me to a tutorial

results vary depending on how you have modelled your headlight. If you have modelled your: globes, reflectors, glass (with volume, not just a single sided poly) you are best (IMO) to use volumetric lights with slight opacity. What effect are you after?
