Default Anyone got any old LW 5.6 Gerry Anderson models (don’t laugh)

Hunting down LW 5.6 models (and earlier) is an interesting experience to say the least. Folks like Don Showalter did quite a few, but can’t get hold of most of them. UFO saucer, interceptor, Skydiver that sort of thing. Any help or pointers (other than get a later version of LW) would be much appreciated. ; )

Red face

I have the UFO, the Interceptor, and half of SkyDiver. (Don't laugh)

I never had 5.6, but I can export them to OBJ and maybe you can import them that way.

Let me know.

Edit: OH! There's also a model of SID in the Resources section.

Cheers. But 5.6 can't important anything.. . . At least not that I noticed. And the stuff up in the resource section are all LW 7 and beyond . . . 5.6 can only read 5.6 and earlier. .. . . it's horrible.

OBJ is pretty universal. Look again and see. Good Luck.

Scifimeshes has totally revamped the website and has a new download section including the old models they used to have. They might have what your looking for.

Huh, last time I looked on there the models had been taken down. . . Nice to see the site updated. Sadly, apart from the Eagle there’s nothing amongst the old files. . . Amazed my old log-in still works as well.

If you find someone that have the meshes you are looking for and use a recent LW version, its easy to export to LW 5, just go to Modeler:

File --> Export --> LightWave 5

If im not wrong this works from LW 6 to version 11.6 (My latest), I not have checked versions up to 11.6.

Also you can check some online 3D file converter and try to convert the files you want, maybe they can convert it to the base 5 version.

or get a free 3d model converter and try to convert it and see if it will work:

http://www.assimp.org/index.php

Remenber that LW 5.6 and older versions have a limit of 65536 on the number of vertices or poligons per *.lwo file. That was an inherent problem with those versions.

In the new versions above 5.6 there is no restriction on files sizes

Good Luck !
