Default Cartoon - Music Video returns with a Vengeance!

Huzzah! This is one great spanking new site, innit? Anywho, enough rambling.
Some shots of the skeleton:

The Instruments:

And the stage they'll be playing on:
(Sorry for the crap lighting; positioned the radiosity dome wrong, and I couldn't really be bothered re-rendering tonight!)

Stay tuned for the animation...
Presentations on Wednesday, and Final hand-in on Friday. Actually, I'm a day ahead of you lot, so it'd be Tuesday/Thursday. Anywho, that means I'll be able to post the finished 30sec clip next Saturday at the latest.
Wish me luck!

That texture looks a whole lot better without radiosity on... odd. Ah well, guess you'll all find out what I mean on Saturday!

This looks great. I love the idea. One minor crit: The floor tiles look way too small. In fact, the whole set could easily be made more interesting.

Your instrument designs are brilliant though

I'm eager to see the results

Cheers mate, crit is always good. Assuming I have time I might play with the set, although if people are watching that instead of the animation then I'll be in trouble! :P
Mind you, the tile size is easily fixed.
Cheers!

Official update! Render of most of the band (i.e. all but the trumpet player).

Not that I have much in the way of composition skill, but a tighter spot with edges that fade to black might allow you focus more attention on the players and less on the stage.

But if you are going to populate that open stage with stuff, then ignore me and I'll be quiet

Well, the stage in that pic will have another character on the left, and I've zoomed it in a fair bit to cut out a lot of dead space. I'll post another render soon, then you can tell me whether or not to change the lighting!
Thanks for the crit

This reminds me of the video for the Grateful Dead's song "Touch of Grey". They used full sized skeleton marionettes of the band members. It was hilarious!

This is a great idea! I hope we can see the video one day.

Instruments are good but I think those smaller drums look a little bit weird because of scaling.

Well, here it be! The spick and span finished movie. I'm quite happy with it, although I think I probably could have done better if I'd actually applied myself more, silly me. Ah well, 20/20 hindsight...

Enjoy!

Just watched this Mook; I love it!

Could do with something a little more interesting than the checkerboard texture. Also, it would be nice to see some more movement, on the lead singer if noone else.

Your fades and wipes are well done and really bring the animation to life.

Just watched, very creative. I'd personally like to see a few more video segments with various angles and more mixed movement on the band but still, you've made the transition from concept to animation and that's cool.
