Looks like you're off to a great start so far, maybe adding a few imperfections into the gold might help a little, either procedurals or dirt maps... but it definitely looks like gold to me

Wow.
That's some cool looking renders dude!
Really impressed

What'd you make them in, and can we see wires (better yet, can we see lighting rig & surface settings )
Hope the client's happy!

Looks like a great start to me. Some imperfections in the metal and perhaps putting it into an environment, even if only a simple one, would help it along the way.

Great stuff, and for the attention it deserves, front pager I think Enjoy.

@3dSoldier

Very nice work and glad to see you posted. I think it depends on what the customer wants, if these are for an advert then you won't want to add any dirt or scuff them up, instead I think you may want to do a little post work and add some bloom or general interest glow.

As a reminder be sure to edit your poast and add the what apps you are suing and a little about the process.

Hey there.. ~I agree with Meurig here.. An environment would help.. but i think the main problem is your reflectionmap or your environment.I think it will help a great deal using a good clean HDRI. It will spice up the now so monochromatic reflections and schadows...The highlights on the diamants will also bennefit. Use only raytraced reflections with a incedence-angle fall off..also making the gold surface structure less hypersmooth but give it a little structure will help a lot. You can always mail me the model and i'll setup a basic scene for you and mail it back for you to use if you want me to..

Lets share the mesh for all,

If you are going to share the ring openly you can upload it to the resources and it will automatically promote you to a contributor. Hint...

My guess is that anyone lacking the keen critical eye of all of us, probably wouldn't notice the slight segmentation anyway

I agree... metal and reflective metal is an area a lot of people tend to struggle to make look right so thanks for sharing

Fantastic textures! Do you mind if I ask, how did you get the diamonds to sparkle like that?

Hi just played around with your ring, added a conductor nodal gold texture with an HDRI map. Final Gather radiosity render,

Thought you might like to see the result.
