Default Star Trek - Discoprise

Playing around with Chris Khun's Discovery Enterprise. I must say that on my first look at the ship I went full South Park - "Oh my God! They've redesigned the Enterprise!" "You bastards!"

Looking it over though, and I think it's a pretty good interpretation. I don't like the extended fantail, not hugely crazy about the broadway spotlights on the primary hull, and the bridge window is an idea that really needs to die. Other than that, I quite like what they've done.

I've turned the warp grill thingies on the inside of the nacelles off. That's just one pet peeve of mine: putting that on pre-tmp ships. Anyway, not to go on a rant, IDIC and all that.

Nice render! I like the new design but I disagree about the bridge window, I like it.

All these renders of Chis Khun's model do have me warming up to it, though I still think it'd be better if it hadn't been squashed vertically and the pylons still went straight out like on Eaves's original design.

I like how moody it is and the way the scene lighting concords with the nacelles and contrasts with the impulse engines.
