Howdy mate, welcome aboard. ! I have to say your images are great and remind me of how I started out. Every image I did back then was a great accomplishment and another step forward. There is lots to learn and from experience I can say it is a great journey. Use these forums buddy to get as much help as you can, as well as the huge amount of tutorials and information available on the net. Books fo course offer a great deal of help, as do DVD learning tutorials and courses if your keen to pursue this as a career. We will all look forward to seeing your progression. Great work mate and keep it up !

Welcome to Foundation 3D.

I can see you are off to a great start. Your modelling looks good. I know using generic hull panel textures is just the thing to do when you're starting out (I did!) but the sooner you get away from those, the sooner your models will look so much better.

I like the design of ships on the last images you posted. But try with better background, only changing that would be a massive improvement. These are just to blury. Try something like:

The shipyard looks too Star Trek. The assault vehicle is a nice design; a little more detail would certainly bring it life.

I like the design of your ships. Is there a way you can brighten the ship itself? Add more light to the subject? I like your backgrounds by the way. My favorite is the battlecruiser.

My condolences for the loss of your grandmother.

I agree with Andrew. Check out the tutorials. They might give you some insight about the lighting of space scenes. You are off to a really good start. I remember some of my first pictures. Andrew and others suggested reading up on the tutorials. They really have helped. I'm a lot better now than I was.

Maybe these can help. I'm not familiar with blender but I hope this might be what you are looking for.

As I said before, I don't know if these can help. One idea you can do is maybe contacting a member who does use Blender and ask for tips.

It's not just lighting meugen, try getting some inspiration from other sources on things like your shipyard and your assault vehicle.

try concept ships and do some research on real life shipyards and vehicles, try looking at some of the stuff that others have made before, like the Aliens APC or the APC that Coolhand made. It's for sale over at 3D02.com.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking inspiration from others or using certain ideas to reinforce your vision.

Keep at it and good luck

Thanks Andrew.I inspire my work from others, but I 3d model sketches made by me or I model a cube until I obtain a shape.I will update soon with my vision on a Stargate ancient battleship.
