Here's a question:

Where do we stand on credits for these things? I mean say we make something with this stuff made from about 7 different authors; do we add all of those names on the credits list whenever that model is used, do those names just go in the readme file for the object download, or are they being added here for free for use, such as *shudder* generic panels...??

Just a thought

I'd just credit the F3D Nurnie collection or something like that if you feel the need.

The downloaded object looks nothing like your render here in the thread (above) and in Resources.

Looks as if you uploaded the wrong file. Also, the archive says Enginebase_002 but the object is labeled EngineBase_001.

Wazzup widdat?

Nice work! My only crit is that you could probably use fewer tube segments next go around. Good item nonetheless. Look forward to more and thnx for the upload.

TK

Sorry about that, keep thinking, is there something I should do before zipping the buggers up..

Ya I do get carried away with the segments on the Disc tool. ...
I just like smooth tubes, I do it with small amount of segments, and then with larger amounts.

I will keep that in mind for the next, Nurnie, Greebles, I load up or build, You have a good Point..

TK

They just look better with large amounts, less smoothing needed.

Besides LW 9.x, can handle large amount of poly's now.

So far the BSG Olympia BS-41 is at about 300,000 polys, and I have just started...

It's amazing how fast the poly's add up, when U are having a great nurnie day...

Michael ............ .... .....

I have no idea what this does or what it aspires to be, hence it obeys 'Elowan's Rule of Greebles & Nurnies'. That is: "If a construct makes sense it is neither a greeble nor a nurnie; it is a detail.'

This is a W.I.P.and hence smoothing, etc is not activated in most instances.

Nice work Elowan. Lol, I like the randomness of it. Makes a wonderful nurnie. A lot of detail in the smaller parts. I guess I'll have to work some more details into mine for upload... Is it a good idea to upload a low res/low deal and a higher detail one together? Just in case people want things for a close up, AND want to save res on a medium close, or distant shot?

Thnx. As to your note - sounds good and it would certainly be a thoughtful and useful thing to do.

Another widget and again - I don't have a clue what it is/does. Inspired by something I observed on a BSG ship. Rendered using AmOcc and radiosity. Uploaded to Resources.

Is it at the weekend that the latest additions get made available in Resources? (just getting impatient, as the last couple of days, I've been checking Resources, and no sign of it yet. If it is the weekend, maybe we'll get lucky and find there's more than one suddenly available. *rubs hands together gleefully)

A modular wall - useful for both sci-fi or fantasy setups. I've included two different wall ornaments - one with fluted columns - and 2 window sets, one simple and the other a conforming set.

Here's something else I'm working on - a framistat which powers a doohicky. With the addition of a few odds and ends it could serve to power whatsit's as well. The design is based on something I ran across on the web some time ago.
