Portal Gun
Hey! I don't get much chance to post here anymore though I do stop by and read up on what's going on ;-) Anyway a mate of mine just sent me this and if you haven't seen it before it's about a guy who is testing his new Portal Gun. Made em smile anyway!

That was very cool. I remember hearing about this a few days ago. Aside from the obvious tracking used on the portals, bear in mind that the portal gun itself is also digital. I believe they were holding a coffee can with tracking dots on it.
Some very good compositing work with that, getting the environmental lighting and reflections onto the object.And, as someone who has played Portal.. a lot.. it was nice to see them do the physics properly (the bit where they launch him at the end was hilarious, and that's pretty much how it happens in the game.. hehe). |
