Default Fantasy - Desert vision

Since I am quite faithful to full 3d environments, it's been quite some time since I did a matte. But recently I caught a glimpse of some paintings by Salvador Dali and I was so captivated by the chromatic and composition that I just had to do something inspired by it. And here it is

That's very well done. So the desert is a photo? If so, I love how you got your shadows to follow the contours of the dunes.

Thanks! Yes, the desert is made up of several photos but no 3d. A while ago I used to do a lot of hand drawings and that surely helped with the shadows

That has the look and feel of some of the works by Michael Whelan. A cross between realism, fantasy and the abstract. It has a nicely balanced comp.
