I went to work on adjusting the front, it needs some more detailing on the side and bottom, but i think it's getting closer to it's final form.

Progress on the detailing, not sure about the lower cranes on the front, bottom hull, but thought I would see what it would look like?

Rigel, I appreciate you sticking with me on this thread, I seem to have lost everyone else, not sure if everyone is as sick of seeing this as me.. been working on this to the point where I'm burnt out from it, although I won't be finished, I'm almost close enough with it to use it. A bit more work to go.... I want this done!

I was wondering what those were. They look like they would be vulnerable during battle. The Clons would blast those off fast, otherwise I really like the details. I bet the poly count is really high.

Be careful of pushing onwards through burnout for the sake of finishing a model. You can end up with a less than pleasing result.

If you feel burnt out, pull up your calendar, put a big reminder on for a week or two from today saying "WORK ON BATTLESTAR" and then put it away until that reminder pops up. Tackle it with a fresh mind and it will finish quicker and be a better model.

Couldn't agree more with Rigel... it's looking good mate, don't ruin it by rushing

I've gone as far as I'm going to go with this for now.. At least, as far as the modeling goes, I will get back to it on a later date. Poly Count 1,362,181 Points 1,981,924

I think I'm going to try some stuff with it though.. It's far enough along to attempt a fan film.. and I do mean attempt !!!!

I've attached a link, this Battlestar, if you can believe it, is my very first model, dating back to 2007
It's come along way, many starts and stops and rebuilds over and over again.
Check out the link, it's funny looking back at where I started, not that my modeling skills are so great, but boy I've gotten a bit better..
http://www.foundation3d.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=1261

Also, I've attached a couple last updated images and started a new model today, it's just getting started, playing with the design, beforeI do any real modeling.

It's based on an original series viper, I might actually have it be a two seater, my thought on the vipers is that they should be bigger in scale, an F-15 is 63.8 ft long ..( googled it ), so I figure it should be bigger in scale.. if it's a two seater the person in the back would also sit a bit higher up, than the pilot, the actual cockpit wouldn't change though.

Anyway .. It's been fun looking back at how this evolved and how my modeling has evolved, still have a lot more to learn though!

You people have been great on here, and have helped me out a lot.

Thank you!

I've learned, that as much as we may want to do it all sometimes, sometimes we can't, whether it's working to our strengths and seeking help with our weaknesses, or sometimes excepting that some projects are just to large for one person. making a team or finding a partner works !!!!

I teamed up with a real nice person, who uses the name Matador on other web sites.

He's been working on the texturing, it still has a way to go, but we are closing in on finishing this ... These are some of his renders...

Nothing to feel bad about that, imo. I've had help on just about everything I've done.

I've gone back, cleaned some stuff up, plus added some more details... the thing though... I've added antennas below the landing bay ? Keep them or get rid of them ?

Amazing work i know how you feel though, when im doing my star trek the motion picture project i sometimes look at the amount of work i have done and how much i have to do, and then sometimes i look at what ive done and go back and redo that, its a never ending progress and sometimes it can ware you down. I think what you have accomplished here by yourself and then when you teamed up is nothing short of outstanding, any of these models are good enough for proper mainstream media, if they ever do a remastered version of the original battlestar series then they surely should turn to you

I thought you'd scrap the antennae, I can't recall them on the original ship but I'm not a BG fan particularly. Otherwise looking damned fine fella

I know this is repetitious, posting what seems like the same images, but progress is slow, and a lot of work !!! I'm still making changes, most notably, the 5 Laser gun piece with an antenna on the top, near the front mid section on the top of the ship, plus I used the same antenna down at the bottom of the landing bay, these replaced the longer needle antennas, plus I changed some greebles too and so on.
