I like the new blue on the nacelles, i think it suits the TOS series a little better.

However, i think the deflector should be a glowng gold personally, rather then a glowing blue. I saw a duplicate of hte reimagined enterprise photoshopped with glowing gold and it looks soooo much better.

UPDATE...
Added windows to the B and C deck and phasers. On the back of the B and C deck is the Captains personal quarters/bachanal/harem room.
I also have two pics of what could turn out to be a shuttle

And because the power of J.J. compels me I felt like doing a Kelvin version of the ship. Right now the shapes are just temp to see if it would work.

UPDATE...
The first two pics are of the textures for the b and c deck.
The second pic shows some of the saucer rim detail including the shuttle bay on on side and the cargo bay on the other.
The next pic shows a side view of the Kelvin because someone asked for it.
The last pic could be my version of Enterprise. Or not.:

UPDATE...
Except for some grid lines the upper saucer is done.
I also added phasers and torpedoe tubes to the lower saucer.

Like the way this one has turned out a lot.
Always thought they looked odd but the detail in this has got me liking it.

I love the idea of the nacelle directly under the primary hull. It just makes it feel like the ship can move a bit more.

I think the last one kind of reminds me of a Belknap/Decatur Class

I like the detailing, and the placement of the deflector. Never did like FJ's dish-on-a-stick (though to give him credit, at that time they thought that was the main sensor dish, not the navigational deflector; didn't need t have as much machinery in the sensors, I guess).

No I haven't done anything more on the Archer yet but I will when I get closer to finishing the other ships so I can use those parts also.

Other than a few smoothing issues I'm thinking the build for this is done. I've got the viewports and main doors done. Some kind of details for the lower forward section.
And finally impulse engines and aft details.

I based it primarily off of the TOS shuttle and the rest I just did so it would fit in with the other ALT-TOS ships I'm making.

UPDATE...
Started on the textures. The shuttle will be two colors. The bottom color is kind of a dark blue grey and the uper color will be more of a light grey.

I'm curious as I learn Lightwave all over again: is the dish detail only image textures, or did you apply geometry to the dish mesh to make the textures?

Just a simple uv mapping modifier. I never could figure out how to unwrap.

It is tight but not as tight as it looks.

The detail on the dish is just a texture.

UPDATE...
I did a little more textures but realized I still have a few smoothing issues. I might rebuild the main body of the shuttle or I might leave it because it still looks good from a reasonable distance. A few folks have expressed that the shuttle bay appears to be a tight squeeze. These pics should show that it's not all that tight. I'm thinking that the shutle bay might be able to fit four shuttles.
