Hey! That's beautiful, and you're right! A very nice hybrid of K7 and STIII.

Awesome!

The TOS style stars are a really nice touch.

I like it. I don't know why, but I expected to see a little spin on the station, but still a great looking animation.

I agree.

If I can dare to suggest something. I'd make a few of the position lights "blink". Would make it look a bit more interesting/alive.
But maybe that is juts me.

Thank you.

As I wrote on the comment in youtube, the lighting is not 100% done yet. There have to be some blinking lights - and the red lights around the docking doors have to be stronger. But that´s fine-tuning that I´ll do once I really use it in a production.

You know, this model actually makes me want to go buy the Vanguard books and give them a read. I've sort of wanted to for awhile, but this is pushing me over the edge.

Stunning job...I'm reading Vanguard books right now, the station looks bulbous but it follows the K-7 station TOS-era design pretty well.

Could certainly see Gantz's Orion merchant ship being docked there...

first of all, looks terrific!
question: are the windows geometry or texture? and what resolution textures are you using if they are textured?

Hi Tobias,

Amazing work!

I'm new in CGI and I would like to know how you make such textures and how do you apply it in your model please.

Thanks a million and have a nice day.

Khem: I did a short tutorial over at scifi-meshes a while ago - that might help
http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/s...erprise-Saucer

lonewriter: No, not in 2013 I have one TNG picture and one of the TMP Enterprise in that. I currently plan to use the station in one of the next Phase II episodes, but it may end up in a SotL picture as well.

That's really cool. Clever job doing the mapping in the UVs rather than using a polar deformer when you made the map and projecting in straight on. I like the little details like the warning decals and base metal, as well.

Also, I didn't realize that Photoshop had layer comps. This changes so much for me.

Check it out - they have become pretty good. It´s all fan work, but for that it is remarkably well done, if I may say so
