Default Aircraft - Aluminum Overcast

Due to be used for a poster, which I hope explains the odd composition. Still pretty happy with how this one turned out. Modo with only a minimum of Photoshop.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Excellent image!

Aluminum overcast is fine, but you don't want aluminum rain.

Awesomely well done! I'm a big fan of the B-17 and this one of the best artistic renders of one I've ever seen.

Thank you guys for the great compliments! I'm really happy (and somewhat shocked) with the way this came out. If you're in Denver this summer, look for it on the posters advertising the EAA's B-17 visiting Centennial Airport. Or come out, I'll be assisting the ground crew and hocking prints!

Cheers,

-A

Ya Awesome Pic..

The B-17 that was here in Spokane last summer crashed after it left..

I took a bunch of photos of the plane..Was a blast,
I just did not have the $400.00 to take a flight around the town in it..
But my Brother and I took his little plane, and followed it around after it took off, and got some real good photos of it..
Have to find the photos i took, now where did I put em...hmmm

That was real sad... That it crashed...

Everyone has made this month's selections extremely difficult. I could have chosen any one of about two dozen images for front-page slots. Congrats on the feature image for the month!

I'd say it.s one of the better plane renders I've seen posted, though I do find the slight noisy fritzy nature of the foreground DOF off putting, minor point all things considered.

Cheers!

Ps. Aluminium!

Beautiful composing, love the sky, background props/fillout, fog, plane!, the reflective surface, the moody lighting...

Only nitpick i have is the cracked tarmac, abit to low-res and flatshading. The rest is just wow
