Default Misc - Lynx's Jewellery Showcase

seeing as i plan on working on this for awhile, i thought createing a new thread for each piece was un-needed so here is a thread where everything too do with Jewellery will go

i worked on this for awhile, its a pocket watch, currently no chain, i need to try and get the glass on the front too stand out more and become more prominent and also tone down the gold, other than that i thought the render worked quite well

comments and critique welcome

tho it could use some more AA on the gold.. or something, and perhaps some saturation, darker floor and a hint of grain like so...

also id say go for one with a lid.. adds something to it and you could allwas engrave the lid and stick a pic inside also dials for setting the time or winding it up.. anything that helps sell it you know..

also a good example of seeing heavy use/wethering, not too hard to do with some simple texturing and heavy use of modo's occlusion system..

The watch looks good so far!

Regarding the glass, if you're doing this in Lightwave are you using the dielectric node in the node editor for the glass? I recently learned about this from a William Vaughn video and it works wonders with glass materials, once you figure out the absorption setting.
