Default Aircraft - Wings at War - WIP - DELTA

In the 60's and 70's a group of individuals being harassed by Government officials (The Man) left Berkeley and settled into a quiet area of Michigan. With the auto industry booming in Detroit 180 or so miles to the south and plenty of farmland to grow the needed medicinal herbal remedies for most of our members, Freedom Conceptual Aircraft was born. Trying to find a balance between "The Man" and the "Tree Hughes" we settled in and began vibing in on some good ideas. With loads of money coming in from our spare medicinal crops, we found ourselves flying high.

After many test we discovered that our medicinal crop produced strong lightweight fibers that a few of our staff are weaving into a strong fabric that may be useful in a few of our newer designs. This will save on costs.

First and foremost, I am not an artist!!!

The skin of my aircraft has fiber-optic panels that transfer lightwaves from the opposite side from the viewer. If the viewer is on the ground and the aircraft fly's by, the viewer will see the basic colors of the sky thru the aircraft. If the plane is setting in a grass field, from the air, the viewer would see the grass color from the field. The 2 way light transfer would minimize the amount of shadows. The fiber-optic cables will be long enough to be routed around super structures, fuel lines, and all other components of the aircraft. A prism like film would help spread the light and color over the outer skin.

We use it here on the farm to make the fiber weave skin, biodegradable plastics for the framework, and many other applications.

here is the unmanned VH8574-8, It uses Hydrogen powered engines. Heat from the engines are vented thru the liquid hydrogen pipes to cool it. this lowers the aircrafts heat trail.

I just hope I can build what my mind has a vision of... I wish I could get the texturing for the fiber-optic skin to work, I have tried several times to no evail... I am also trying to keep the weight down while using natural radar absorbing or transparent materials including lightweight cermet engines.

I know the history for my company makes me sound like a stoner, but I have never tried recreational drugs....excluding whiskey and beer. LOL Have a lot of friends that do.

Vh8574-8s prototypes 1st fiber-optic skin camo activation test.

Today we here at F.C.A. rolled out the Vh for her first FOS test. At the cost of a lot of FO cable and man hours the camo test seems to work well. At a zero power cost we feel this works well for "in the field" camouflage.

Note: No transparency is set on any of the surfaces.

Nice camo effect. I wish I could have done that with my Jeep when I was in the army.

Nice composites on the photos too, by the way.

Well we took her up for her first flight test today. The spot plane had a few problems tracking her. We lost power in the cermet hydrogen engine so we had to cut the flight short. Well back to the drawing board on the mixtures... I will say that she handled very well during her unpowered decent, and landed very gracefully on the grass strip near our plant. The staff here are starting to complain about calling her VH8574-8 or VH all the time and want to come up with a petter name for her.

Here are some of the names that have passed around the shops the last few days.

Skopos = observer

Sophia = knowledge, wisdom

Aphanes = unseen

Phainomai = I appear

Oro = to see

Kalos = beautiful

Episteme = good knowledge

Gignoskein = to know

Aphrodite = name of a goddess

I am adding a photo the spot pilot took today.

Well, the team finished putting the safety coating over the fiber optic lenses, it is a compound that will just peel off when we are done with it.

For some reason the staff is bitching about the surroundings. They complain about everything... They still can't decide on a name...

Love the camouflage effect.

A fine bit of compositing, also.

Why is it harder to come up with a name than designing an aircraft?

Hmmm , I started by looking at Greek words... I gave it the # VH8574-8, then was going to name it when it's design could (speak) to me....

I have had a lot of fun playing with the compositing and working on the fiber optic skin effect.

As far as the images I have done so far, I like the ball field and the dilapidated hanger the best.

Because you don't have a half-dozen commitees and sub-commitees to pick the name for you.

That government way may take longer, but it takes the worry out of decision making.

Well the VH8574-8 Prototype has been rechristened the U.F.O.S. Unmanned Fiber Optic Surveillance vehicle. We named this UFOS vehicle "The Watcher". The Watcher uses this technology as both camouflage and surveillance.

Thumbs up

Well we fixed our little setback with the engines and next week we start are altitude trials. The "guys with the ties" came in and walked around are meager facility and gave us the thumbs up to move into a larger place just a few blocks up the road. The materials we are making are holding up better then we expected, and the new prisms we are using with the fiber optic skin give about a 70 degree arc of visibility so you can walk around the Watcher and see a good proximity of what is on the other side. Running the cables on the other hand are a big pain in the azz. Running them to the correct prisms on the opposite side of the airframe is a nightmare. I owe my kid a pizza.

The images included are the old shop, and the new plant taken from the Watchers surveillance cameras. The distance from the target is classified.

Our U.F.O.S. project is ahead of schedule even with the minor setbacks we have seen.

DELTA CEO F.C.A.

PS The guys in the ties loved the brownies!

If your going for breaking up an outline of an object, transferring the lightwaves from the backside to the front and visesa versa would seem to be the way to go. To me, fiber optic cables are the logical choice.

Over a decade ago, I wrote a Star Trek novel. One thing I addressed in it was how the cloaking device worked and why it prevented weapons from firing. My take on it was that it was a hologram, which projected the image of what was on one side of the ship to the exact opposite side, much like the technique described here. And it took up so much computer time to run that hologram in real time, there was nothing left for targeting and fire control.

Here are a few more test renders. I am working in several areas I have never worked in before. I would like to try a small experiment with fiber optics to see just how well it would work in real life applicaions...

Let me know what you guys think of my tinkerings.
