Default Aircraft - Wings of War - WIP - Malcolm Reynolds

I'm not sure what i'm going for other than some strange sort of VTOL. Gonna be starting the tail soon.

I think it is a VLU-launched , could it be? And after that it transitions to a horizontal flight?

Thanks guys, right now i'm trying to make a prop for the horizontal stabilizer. For the mean time I'm going to render this in its "Flight Mode".

Its your baby but that loop on the tail just doesn't seem to mate well with it. Maybe once the prop is in there it will fit better.

Malcolm, good to see you joining in.

Nice piece of modelling so far. Keep it up and you'll be on my list of people to hate.

I'm with you there bill, the horizontal stabilizer doesn't really look quite right. With the prop there it looked really hideous. I just came up with this rudder and personally I think it works better with the aircraft.
Later i'm going to build the rigging for the engines so that they can rotate.

Nice. It will be interesting to see what you do for landing gear.

Maybe it should land onto a net and be folded back into VLU on ship ? (just a crazy idea)

Hey man, nice model! It's going well.
First impressions, this design reminds me of the ornithopter, from Dune. The specific look from Dune 2000, the game. I always liked that design.

Interesting design. I like it. How about directional thrust for the horizontal stabilizers instead of props?

Sorry for the gap, between end of school studying and chores this slipped my mind but now I'm getting back to this
Right now I'm starting on the propeller. I have a few smoothing errors and point welding to do yet but that'll be done by the next update.

It does. The leading edge of the wing could use a little more rounding out. But other than that it looks great!

Thanks guys, yeah I was trying to round the wing with rounder, didn't really work out to well. Came out with polygons everywhere.
I've started on the propeller and on a low poly interior for simple flybys of the plane.

What was the inset amount?

Been a while since an update, soon I'm going to start texturing this. I have a few more things to do for the cockpit, than I need to do some landing gear.
I've modified the engines a bit and I've added some more controls to the instrument panel.
