Default SciFi - SCS support ships.

Sorry for the long asbence. Life has not been ... let's just say it sucks. To take my mind off the lame job market. I have started to create the support craft for my naval assets. First up is the SCS Terrace Bushmann. A typical freighter. She munnitions and food stuffs and other gear for the carrier group

She is going to be more detailed as some of her machinery isn't covered up by thick armor. As was done with the naval ships.

this is about 4 hours of work. Crits are welcome.

Are these from an original universe? Or Wing Commander?

Either way, they look fantastic. Not enough support ships get love.

Got some details done. Then I had to do a side by side compare with one of my naval ships. The crusier SCS Wichita has pulled up for some supplies

Wow, you're knocking this one off very quickly.

It looks great and fits right in with the capital ships. Nice work.

This render is closer to the lighting i was looking for. Deep space.(I.e BSG Look) Though it may be a little too dark.

Any suggestions, Crits?

I like it, although I'm not a fan of the realistic lighting because it hides the beautiful ship.

Default Falcon Heavy Lift SVTOL

The Falcon isthe workhorse of the fleet. Filling many different rolls with in the carrier group. From carrying special forces into hot zones to carrying supplies to those affected by natural disasters. The green figure is for scale. She is 1.6 meters tall.

this is a block out of the major pieces of the SVTOL. Only the cockpit area has been modeled so far. (and that took me some time as i wasn't happy with the shape of it. )

Crits r welcome

What makes it fly? I dont see any obvious control surfaces, vents, repulsors or engine pods or suchlike, and your interior only shows a broom cupboard for equipment. A ship like this lifting heavy equipment I'd expect to see something to give it a powerful, burly look. It's at an early stage I know, but I'm curious how it's going to turn out.

I have added the drive elements. Almost all of the drive elements are external to the hull to increase the cargo capacity of the ship. She uses Aero Gravity repulsion technology to create a gravity field around the ship. This field can push and pull against the local body's gravity field. (i.e planet) to obtain the needed lift and thrust. A backup unit is installed in the ship in case of main drive failure. This also gives her a limited jump capacity of an estimated 20 lightyears. Only the control elements of the AG drive are installed in the hull. This equipment does fit within the confines of the crew cabin.

Crits r welcome

It's not the first time I've come across the idea (in science fiction) of space vehicles being able to push against gravity, or otherwise manipulate gravity to move themselves, even at sub-light speeds. I personally like the idea; it seems much more advanced than engines producing thrust.

Maybe you could post your design sketches? Give us a look at where you're headed with this?

Small update and design drawings for the Falcon. The grey areas are elements that i need to work on still. Currently working on the aft cargo ramp.

Now if i can keep Lightwave 9.6 from crashing every 20 minutes I might be able to finish this model

Field technologies are the sign of an advanced civilization, no doubt about it, and makes for a much cleaner ship. You could have said it was powered by mutated rice-krispies and I couldn't have argued with it, but I like that you have some consistency and thought behind it. I think I like designing dropships and lifters like this the most, they take a fair bit of thought and can look very cool indeed.
