Mean looking little gun.
Those shells have some rather showy bullets on them

Great work! I love FN's too... I miss my SAW sometimes.

They're started selling a semi-auto version of this weapon,.. It's high up on my list of toys to aquire.

I can't wait to see more!!

This is a fantastic job. Love it! Wish things were different these days.. more like my youth when you could go to a gun show and find the same class of rifle for sale in yesteryears modles of course. Still.. NICE.

Your detail work and accuracy (break apart model!) is quite stunning.

*8 months later*

Oh my god... did realy so much time pass since the last update?

I was very busy at work and with the prep. of the constrution of my new house. Those bureaucrats can realy drive you

Now that the construction is progressing nicely, I can finally work again on my SCAR!

So today I modeled the foregrip.

As you all surely know by now, I do have an obession with details.
So I am wondering what the text on my ref image could say which is stenciled into the foregrip.

Anyone an idea?

Don't have a clue, but from what I can tell the foregrip is interchangeable (tends to vary in different photo's I've seen) so it could just be a custom one.

Don't know if you have these our not but I hope these can help with some of the other detail. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=2&t=280622&page=1

Nice work on the house.

Nice to see some updates again. The model is looking very good.

The house render though; I see you're trying to get the "wet look" to the top but I think your spec settings are too high. Nice background though.

Any ETA on finishing the house?

Thanks!
I hope that I can now stay working on it until finished. Really looking forward to texturing it.I plan to create a new and a beaten up look.

He, he. You should see the basement shot with 15 cm water in it. Awesome fluid-simulation - nearly cried the first time I've seen it.

What you have there is a gripod also known as a tactical pod incorporating a bipod and grip all in one, I think the one you have linked to is a knoghts industry pod, so it will have the standard knights industry writing on it.

If it isn't a Knights then it's probably a LaRue.

Nope, Scar H's have a specially designed QD suppressor that locks onto the flash hider using a push down 'goal mouth' clamp, it's a very cool little design actually.

Nice work,

Can I ask what colour you're going to texture it?

I want to create textures for these 2 colorstyles:

I also want to create a "clean/fresh from factory" and a "used" version for both colors.

And depending on how well that works, I might try some (non-realsitic) camo styles.

Cool, glad you're going for the Tan version. Just take one thing into account which doesn't always show up in photos, the Tan receiver has a metalic look to it, in fact it almost looks like a dirty gold colour.

Thanks for the info!

Had a bit time this afternoon to start on the Buttstock.
Please ignore the smoothing errors, will fix those tomorrow.

Yep, that's an Aimpoint mate. Specifically an M2 military Aimpoint.

Not really the type of scope you normally see on a Scar, I would recommend you model something like the SpecterDR scope for the Scar H.

Hi, The only reference that I could find was the following.
ACOG/Thermal scope.

Another site, mentioned the scope as being, M68 Aimpoint , here is the link.
Hope it helps. Great looking rifle here.

I started with the next part of the Buttstock today - but for some reason I could not get it to look right. :S

So I decided to give it a break and take a shot on the Aimpoint CompM2 Scope. Ended up working with quite a few nurbs... which I do not like that much to be honest.

This is todays progress. A lot of detailing and finetuning has to be done. It is also a bit too long right now.
The "mounting" part is currently just a rough palceholder.

So now that this is done as well, I have to finish the buttstock.

Unless I decide start with the GL attachment.
