Default Stargate - Ancient Warship v2

Hi all,
i've finally completed the second version of my ancient warship from stargate atlantis (yes, i love this ship ). I've done a new texturing work on the entire ship, replaced old tubes, and created new guns.
I have to thank Meurig that allowed me to use 2 of his textures in my ship, precisely "Tex_Generic_Col.png" and "Tex_Generic_Spec.png" from his omega destroyer.
Well, maybe i'll desaturate a bit the bronw material and i'll dark a bit the gray hull material, but actaully i'm really happy with this result. Now all i have to do is add some lights here and there.
For the first time i used only mental ray with arch and design materials. I'm really really impressed: i've spent about ten minutes to render each of this pic (3940 x 2216) plus about 5 minutes for each AO pass. With the old version i spent about 15mins only for the color pass (and 1920x1108)...
Hope you like it!

Thanks mates!
Actually the polycount is over 960k polys. I plan to reduce it a bit it, replacing the high poly version of the bridge interior with low poly version!

That's not bad at all. Especially if you have a detailed bridge in it!

nice work. Can you psot a normally lighted render, instead of a Globally Illuminated one. I'd love to see how the specularity came out,

Now thats a boatload of polys. Very well done, even thought Im not a real big fan of Stargate beyond the movie and first few years of the series.

The modelling is nice, but I have to say the generic panel texture doesn't work for me. I can live with it on B5 stuff because... welll.... Babylon 5 gave birth to generic hull plating, but these really need real textures making rather than cheap easy textures

Cheers!

David,

That looks fantastic. Are you going to model the Stargate Universe ship now?

You ever gonna detail those engines? They're sticking out like a sore thumb.

Extremely impressive work. I particularly like the 'not quite symmetrical' aspects.
